Dr. R. Gentry Matthews, DDS
Dr. Matthews is a native of Burlington and has been
practicing dentistry here since 1994. Dr. Matthews graduated
Summa Cum Laude North Carolina State University. He
received a Board of Governors scholarship and graduated
from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry
in 1993. While at UNC, he served as a representative
to the Spurgeon Dental Society, was an active member of
Delta Sigma Delta (Dental Fraternity). He is a past
Rotary Club member and is a member of the local dental
society where he has served in various leadership
positions.
Dr. Matthews is a racing enthusiast both behind the
wheel as driver and as a spectator. He enjoys spending
time with his family and keeping up with his two young
sons.
Christina Beckom, Dental Assistant
Christina graduated with honors from Alamance Community College in 2005 and has over 6 years experience in patient care including general denistry, pediatric dentistry as well as orthodontic expertise. She especially enjoys working with children and takes the time to get to know all of her patients individually.
Outside of the office, Christina loves spending time with her family and enjoying the outdoors.
Pat Buchanan, Office Manager
After a 39-year career with the Federal Government,
Pat joined the front office staff at Dr. Matthew's practice
in 2000. Her role includes managing patient records
and building patient relationships. Pat is a graduate
of the Commercial Program at UNC-Greensboro.
Pat's greatest joy is spending time with her three
grandsons, Cayden, Holden and Jensen. She also enjoys
decorative painting, cooking and dancing.
Angie Dawson, Dental Hygienist
Angie earned B.S. degrees in Biology and Dental Hygiene
from UNC-Chapel Hill and has been providing dental care
for over 19 years. She is committed to outstanding patient
care and has developed many close patient relationships
over the years.
Angie is an avid Tar Heel fan and enjoys spending time
with her family and Shih Tzu, "Trapper John".
She has been involved with music most of her life and
is active in the choir at Trinity Worship Center. She
also enjoys gardening, traveling, knitting and spending
time with nature in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Katie Jones, Clinical Assistant
Katie is a native of Alamance County and is a graduate
of Piedmont Dental Assistants licensed by the NC State
Board of Community Colleges. Katie loves the dental
field and helping people gain a lasting gift - their
smile.
Katie is married and has a son which she adores. She enjoys spending time with her family and
friends, entertaining guests, going out to eat, vacationing at the beach and
taking in bright sunshiny days. |
