Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is procedure designed to remove
stains and discoloration,as well as lighten pigmentation
within the teeth.
There are two methods for whitening teeth: Laser
whitening, which takes about one hour in the office;
or at-home whitening, which is under the supervision
of Dr. Matthews.
Teeth
whitening systems like Opalescence
is safe and easy to use to achieve a brighter, whiter
smile. The Opalescence gel is placed in thin, comfortable
trays and fitted over your teeth. As you whiten your
teeth, carbamide peroxide is broken down and oxygen
enters the enamel and dentin. This bleaches out the
discolored areas. The structure of the tooth is not
changed. The color of the tooth is simply made lighter.
Crowns & Bridges
Crowns are generally used when the damage or decay
is so extensive that filling materials cannot return
the tooth to natural health and function. When tooth
loss occurs, a bridge may be used or the use of dental
implants is an option.
Bonding & Veneers
Veneers can improve your smile. They may be used to
improve color and shape, close spaces between teeth,
lengthen small or misshaped teeth or whiten stained
or dark teeth. Bonding is tooth-colored material and
can be used to repair minor chips or spaces in between
teeth.
Tooth Colored Filings
If you have ugly, dark, silver mercury fillings, then
consider composite fillings, which use state-of-the-art
tooth-colored resin to blend the restoration to your
natural-colored teeth.
Dental Implants
Dental implants are a great option to replace missing
teeth, especially when the surrounding teeth are healthy,
natural teeth.
